Bringing Riley HOME--Tuesday, March 11

The day had FINALLY come!!  I woke up early Tuesday morning and without hesitation asked the nurse to shower and get ready for the day.  There was no time to waste...I wanted to be ready whenever the doctors showed up!!  Dr. Norgard came in around 8:30 to do a final check of my incision.  He said it looked good and approved my release from the hospital.  Around 9:30 Dr. Magnesen (the pediatrician) came in to let us know that he had checked on Riley and Riley was also ready to go home.  YAY!!!!!!  We were going to be able to leave before noon and that was our goal!!  We packed everything up and Mike started to load things in our vehicle.  I got Riley dressed in his "going home" outfit and naturally we took (just a few) pictures!! : )

Dressed and ready to go HOME!

Loading all of our stuff!

In the car seat and ready to GO!

We had to wait around a few extra minutes, because they hadn't given us his birth certificate yet.  When they brought it to us, his time of birth was incorrect; therefore, we had to send it back to them and they had to fix it.

Around 11:30 we were ready to walk out the hospital doors!!  We were thrilled!!!!

Leaving the hospital!!!  Yay!!!

I sat in the back seat with Riley.  We had to stop at Walmart for my pain perscription.  Mike went in to get it and I stayed in the car with Riley.  Before leaving Fergus we stopped at McDonalds for a quick drive-through lunch.  We got home around 1:00.

It was SO nice to be home!!!  The first thing I did was feed Riley.  Then we spent the majority of the afternoon basically just staring at him and admiring our little boy.  My dad came around 3:00 to drop Bailey off.  It was fun to see Bailey's reaction towards Riley.  It really wasn't much of a reaction.  Bailey was too excited to be back home and see us that he hardly noticed Riley.  There was a certain point in the afternoon however when Bailey saw Riley move for the first time and that sparked a bit more curiosity.  Peaches was a little curious at first, but then carried on with his own business.
