18 Weeks Old/4 Months Old
July 7-13
This week marked Riley turning 4 months old! What an amazing 4 months it has been! He grows and changes every day and I love him more and more everyday!
This week we took some family pictures. Dahmes Photography was looking for models who she could practice with! I was more than happy to have someone take our pictures on Riley's 4 month birthday. We got a few sneak peaks and they turned out very cute!
The most significant part of the week was when I observed Riley meeting a very important milestone...he rolled over on July 10! I didn't get it on camera....but he was laying on his play mat and just like that, he flopped over!
The end of the week was pretty fun as well. Friday Riley took his very first boat ride on Grandpa Dave's boat! We went to Lobster lake and spent about an hour on the lake. Riley was strapped tightly in his life jacket and wore his tan fishing hat. He barely fussed at all. Maybe he will love the water like his Momma loves the water.
After the boat ride, we took a special trip to Great Grandma's house. She had a wonderful surprise for Riley. To explain things, when Grandma Reanie was a child, she rode a blue peddle car in parades. This peddle car ended up in Grandpa Dave's garage. It was over 50 years old, rusty, and falling apart. Well, Great Grandma Baba wanted this car to be refinished especially for Riley. That is exactly what she did. She had Larry re-finish the car and as we walked into Baba's apartment, there sat a little, blue, shiny peddle car that looked like new! It was beautiful and also a very sentimental gift. We sat Riley in the car and he gave everyone a big smile! He is too small to peddle it, but one day I can just imagine how excited he will be. Grandpa Dave bought Riley a MN license plate with his name printed on it. We will mount that on the peddle car!
Saturday Riley and Mommy went to watch Black Belt testing. Riley was such a good boy. He sat so nicely for the long tests.
Saturday night Mommy and Daddy decided to go listen to Tripwire in Wendell. Riley went to stay with Uncle Kyle, Auntie Jen, and his cousins for a couple hours. After the dance, we all stayed overnight in Kensington and went back home Sunday after the Nascar Race was over.
4 Months In Review
Weight: 20.6 lbs--(according to our scale) and 29 inches long (according to my measures).
Sleep: A great sleeper most nights. There have been a couple nights when he wakes up. I think he may be starting to teeth. He sleeps in his crib!
Medical Issues: Healthy little guy!
Clothes: He fits in a variety of clothing, but 6 month clothes is probably the safest bet! Some of his shorts outfits are 12 months and they fit him as well!
Diet: 5 oz bottles
Baby Gear: He likes his Winnie the Pooh walker. He will sit in it and play with the items on top.
Crying: Nothing too extreme! If he begins to cry, you pick him up and he stops almost immediately most of the time.
Mommy and Daddy News:
Riley and Mommy are enjoying the beautiful summer days. They are going far too quickly, however! In the past month, Riley went on his first camping trip, went to a water park, and celebrated his first 4th of July! Hard to believe what a difference a year makes. Last 4th of July we were announcing our pregnancy to family. This 4th of July we have a precious baby boy here with us to love!
Milestones: Rolled over and giggles. He chews on EVERYTHING...including his toes! Lots of drool! : )Medical Issues: Healthy little guy!
